FRI Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional investment fund
FRI was founded in 2011 at the initiative of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region with support from investors who have an interest in developing the region’s economy.
Its investment policy consists in supporting intermediate-sized companies with €3 million to €100 million in sales through the various stages of their growth. The Fund invests at the growth, redeployment, and buyout stages, with a preference for underserved market sectors and complex situations.
A second-generation fund, FRI Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 2, with more committed capital, has been operational since January 2018.
It provides them with the equity they need to finance:
Strengthening the capital structure of investee companies experiencing difficulties caused by short-term economic developments in order to enhance their borrowing capacity.
Internal growth: financing for capex, intangible assets, WCR, sales force support, export expansion, etc.
Acquisitions: purchases of companies or businesses.
Transfers of ownership of closely-held companies to employees or outside entities.
